Learning to Walk

It has been a tough road, but I finally learned to walk.

Mommy said that at 9 months old, I showed promise of beginning VERY soon, yet, never really established a desire to walk until the beginning of 11 months.

As Mommy generally does, she set me on the floor in the bathroom while she was getting ready. Her and I were "talking" to each other. As she was talking to me, I felt like I needed to stand up. I stood, felt very comfortable in standing and decided that what I wanted was across the room. I knew that the best way to get there was to do it standing somehow. You know, like Mommy and Daddy and all of the other big people do. I knew I had to act fast, because what I wanted was something that Mommy always takes away from me and says "No!" So, while mommy was distracted, putting colored stuff on her face, I made my move! I just did it. I put 1 foot in front of the other and leaned forward. I WAS OFF LIKE A DIRTY SHIRT! I was on my way! I almost made it, when Mommy suddenly stopped talking.

I knew the Jig was up! She shouted "Oh MY GOSH, Brynn! You're WALKING." I thought "oh, that is what this is called." I looked back at mommy and smiled because I knew I was going to get to what I wanted before she could stop me. I took a few more steps. Lost my balance and Sat down. RATS!!! Mommy picked me up and cuddled me and told me how proud she was of me.

I still never got to what I wanted!
